If you’re staying with us this autumn, a trip to a pumpkin patch makes a lovely family outing. Whether you want a perfect carving pumpkin for Halloween or just an excuse to wander the fields in your wellies, there are some great options all within half an hour’s drive of Libbear Barton.

Just 25 minutes from Libbear Barton, The BIG Sheep is one of North Devon’s best-known family attractions. Alongside rides, shows, and animals, there’s a pumpkin patch where little ones can pick their own to take home. A full day out with plenty of seasonal fun.

Over the border into West Devon, about half an hour away, you’ll find Strawberry Fields’ famous Pumpkin Fest. Expect thousands of pumpkins, themed activities, and delicious food stalls. It’s a big day out with lots of atmosphere.

For something smaller and simpler, Sam’s Pumpkin Patch is a friendly, family-run spot. Free to enter, you only pay for what you pick. A relaxed outing, perfect for younger children — and easy to reach from Libbear Barton.

Handy Tip

Bring wellies and waterproofs – Devon fields in October can get muddy, and that’s all part of the fun.
